The province

The province of Cordoba is dotted with natural spaces of extraordinary ecological value and cities where history and art seem to have slumbered since time immemorial.

Two of the most important cities of baroque Andalusia are in Cordoba: They are Priego and Lucena, whose churches and tabernacles summarize the architectural postulates of the art of the 17th and 18th centuries. Nestled in a corner of the Subbética mountain range, Zuheros is one of the most colorful and popular towns in the south of the peninsula, as is Montoro, whose hamlet is embraced by the waters that the Guadalquivir draws in its many meanders. Almodóvar del Río, close to the Sierra de Hornachuelos Natural Park, has one of the most admired castles in Andalusia. In fact, a good part of the history of the province resides in its towers and battlements. Also in the south of Cordoba, Montilla stands out, with landscapes of vineyards and olive groves. To the north you will find granite and ancient meadows in Los Pedroches: Hinojosa del Duque, Pedroche, Dos Torres are some of its most emblematic towns. The Sierra de Cardeña y Montoro Natural Park, habitat of the Iberian lynx, is located in the middle of the Sierra Morena. Likewise, to the north, the Guadiato region will welcome you in Fuenteovejuna and Peñarroya with beautiful landscapes.

Historic complexes, natural landscapes, festivals and folklore declared of tourist interest, corners full of charm... are just a glimpse of what the province of Cordoba can offer the visitor.
