Almudaina

Almudaina

Almudaina Restaurant is one of the most attractive spots in the Jewish Quarter of Cordoba, just next to the Mosque-Cathedral and in front of the Castle of the Christian Monarchs. This 16th century palace was built for Bishop Leopold of Austria, uncle of the Emperor Charles V and son of Maximilian of Austria. The building retains its Jewish structure, mudejar ceilings and late Gothic entrance, but it has since been restored and decorated tastefully to create a series of charming rooms which are the perfect backdrop for enjoying the cuisine of Cordoba. The hallway-bar is near the entrance, and this leads to 7 different dining rooms, spread over two floors, which were originally the 6 rooms of the house, plus a charming Cordoban courtyard which has braseros (under-table heating) under every table in winter and a glass skylight decorated with different designs and famous citizens of Cordoba, such as Maimonides, Seneca or Averroes.

In the Almudaina we offer you traditional Cordoban and Spanish cuisine, made with fresh natural ingredients which are selected daily.
