Manuel Benítez, known as El Cordobés, modernized bullfighting, gaining worldwide notoriety: he appeared on the covers of Life magazine, had a street in Las Vegas named after him, starred in several films, and was the subject of an international bestseller. From the beginning of his career, he became a true musical icon, and even in retirement, he continued to star in numerous albums in the following decades.
This matador’s image and nickname appeared on so many albums that his popularity was compared to that of the Beatles, a little-known side of this bullfighting figure that the "Greatest Hits" exhibition aims to showcase.
There are hundreds of cases in which his name, image, or biography have served as inspiration for countless album covers, lyrics, or musical compositions.
"El Cordobés. Greatest Hits" is a visual journey through fifty vinyl record covers, as well as sheet music, sticker albums, magazine covers, pennants, and other products that will bring you closer to this brilliant figure.
