Battle of the Flowers

Every year, at noon on the first or second of May, the Battle of the Flowers takes place in Cordoba. In the central avenues of Paseo de la Victoria and Argentina, a cavalcade of floats decorated with flowers drives around and the occupants throw carnations to the public, which the public then throw back - hence the name the “Battle of the Flowers”. This is Cordoba’s way of welcoming the spring.
